My Summer Trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah --- part 1

This is my version of the summer trip in KK.

Travelling buddies: My officemates which are Yana, Mek Da, Mok Ya and K.Kemar

Pre-travelling Day 0.5 -15th July 2010 (Thursday)
Sleepover at K.Nanie's house which is 15min frm LCCT.

initial plan was to stay over at Tune Hotel, due to YT last minute nak cari hotel skali rege rm300+ for 2 rooms! pergh bazir duit jer..so menumpang kasih kat umah K.nanie jelar...hehehe




Day 1 - 16th July 2010 (Friday)
Woke up around 4am in the morning (mmg nak praktis bgn awal since Sabah subuh awal)
by 5.30am we went to LCCT..
actually i've already done the web check-in..bleh plak terlupa kaunter mana nak drop off baggage..tny kat kaunter besar dia kasi nombor mana ntah..dahla jauh kat area International kaunter..skali counter tue utk Indonesia nyer check-in..hangin aku..pastu dia suruh pegi kaunter yg check-in biasa..kenala jalan pulak and beratur..aku mcm x puas hati jer sbb what is the purpose of having a kiosk for self check-in/web check in kalau ko kena beratur at the normal kaunter? nmpk jer one of the officer AA berlegar2 terus aku gi tny...and he gave me the correct baggage drop off counter!..phew..mmg penat ar kaki jalan sana ke mari..awal pagi dah eksasais weih!

lps tue gi solat pulak..after solat tunggu pulak org yg nak gi toilet nih..haha suppose to enter the boarding gate like 6.30am..tapi kitaorg lewat sket...skali sampai kat depan gate, nama kitaorg dh dipanggil..wakakaka..what a day to start with! hehehe..

the journey to KK was smooth..i was famished so i bought the nasi lemak on board...okla not so bad..lapar nyer pasal..belasah jer hehehe

arriving KK, the car rental in-charged tgh menunggu kedatangan YT...

hehehe initial plan, i want to rent an Avanza with the rate of rm200 perday...

considered super cheap as normal rate is rm280 perday...how did i get so cheap? thanks to Shidah for giving me the contact person name..hehe

well i said initial plan was going to rent Avanza, skali diberitahu kereta di upgrade kepada toyota Innova with the same rate! hehehe..syukur alhamdulillah..rezeki kitaorg kot..

nervous jugak sbb I was the one who will be driving the car..tapi kena buat confident jerla..

1st challenge was to find a petrol station since the car is almost empty..haha nak cari petrol station punyela seksa..why? sbb kitaorg tatau sgt jalan kat KK..and i was trying to figure out using the GPS on the phone :P..owh btw i bought a map of Sabah..it was really helpful sbb at least bleh nmpk dgn jeles our directions..bila jumpa petrol station, tny org how to go to Kundasang..pastu tgk peta, ala2 confident kitaorg pun meneruskan perjalanan..

perjalanan ke Kundasang takla menakutkan pun..tak seteruk mcm jln to Cameron Highlands..

tapi byk trailer/lorry yg slow and susah nak overtake...

1st stop was searching for Jambatan Tamparuli... jumpa jambatan tue, kitaorg bergambar sakan..then continue our journey to Kundasang...

next was Pekan Nabalu...ingat nak makan situ..tapi tgk anjing byk pulak..just went in their shops yg jual kraftangan..bergambar sket then continue headed to the homestay yg YT dah booked.

We stayed in J residence...

read some reviews in Cari forum and it was not that bad since baru jer..so i asked the price and managed to get as cheap as rm80 per room (weekday)..ada satu Queen size and satu single size bed..so we took 2 rooms with connecting door.

the place is nice, agak sunyi..tapi nk masuk ke situ agak mencabar...hehehe bygkan kecuraman ala2 45 degrees kot kena drive turun ..hehe but okla for a stay there..tapi if u want to see mount kinabalu clearly, you may go and stay in Kinabalu Pine resort..harga a bit expensive as u paid for the view...hehe

tak lama lps tue, Shidah sampai..then we went out for late lunch (kul 3 petang to be exact!) hahaha...she brought us to Nabalu Lodge Cafe..

we ordered masakan panas...and what i like is their tomyam, betul2 kick! hehe sambil makan sambil merenung gunung kinabalu mmg best sgt!!!

bila dh kenyang perut, kami pun menuju ke War Memorial..

sini mmg best nak bergambar sbb taman bunga dia sgt cantik....the profile photo in my FB was taken frm this place! ;-)

lps penat bergambar..kitaorg bergerak ke pekan Kundasang nih...tgk org jual sayur and buah2...ada 2 buah yg tak pernah dgr/makan..
one is buah tarap, mcm ala2 cempedak..according to Shidah, buah nih kalau kat semenanjung monyet jer yg mkn...hehe well i've tasted it and quite nice wpun dia ada bau yg semerbak..hehe another one is buah lemak manis kot..hehe bak kata yana struktur dia sgt menarik..it means the texture of the fruit..rasa mcm avacado pun ada..hehe

by nite time, hujan mula turun..huhuhu then situ sgt2la sejuk yg tak terhingga...even mandi guna hot water pun tak rasa apa2..menggigil hingga ke tulang..hehehe..dinner we headed back to Nabalu Lodge Cafe..situ kami menikmati steamboat..the veges are fresh mmg sodap sgt2! ditambah pula dgn kesejukan..mmg best ar! blk dr mkn malam..masing2 exhausted and ketidoran dlm kesejukan...seriously i had to wear a sweater with socks on my feet! hehe sejuk sgt2...
